Built in 1982 as part of a 140 strong fleet, 1812 is now the sole remaining ‘over-width’ SL200 (that we know of) and was delivered as new to the STA in the familiar silver livery. Based at Elizabeth Depot it operated there for its entire government career. After the bus network began to be franchised in 1996, it was re-numbered 168 under Serco and painted into Serco’s ‘blue-bum’ livery, and then finally into Admet Livery, a livery which is still seen throughout Adelaide in 2020. Re-numbered again to 2471 under SouthLink, then retired from Government service in 2007 and bought by Buses’R’Us. Then repainted (again!!) into their livery it was numbered 26 and saw further use as a charter and school bus until late 2011 when sold to become a motorhome. Saved through good fortune by a to-be BPASA member in 2014, it has since undergone thorough mechanical repairs. In 2017, it underwent an external restoration to represent the late 1980’s STA corporate livery that many such units wore.
